What is the TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools workshop?

This workshop involves the development of the skills and knowledge required to design and to develop assessment tools used to guide the collection of quality evidence, including their application in formative, summative and recognition of prior learning (RPL) assessment. It applies to experienced practitioners responsible for the development and/or delivery of training and assessment products and services.

Licencing/ Regulatory requirements 

 From the 1st of April 2019 trainers must hold the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and:

Either one of the following:

  • TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills
  • TAELLN401A Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills

Plus one of the following:

  • TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools
  • TAEASS502A Design and develop assessment tools
  • TAEASS502B Design and develop assessment tools.

Face to face: The face to face component of the TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools is delivered over one day. There is a workplace project to be completed after the course. You have up to 24 months to submit. In order to successfully complete the workplace project you will need to have access to stakeholders to review and trial your assessment tools.

In-House training: This unit of competency can be customised to suit your organisation and delivered on-site. Contact Trainwest for more information.

Recognition of Prior Learning: Trainwest offers a personalised hand-holding RPL process. Whereby a training specialist will assess your evidence against the required competency standards for this unit of competency.

Self-Paced Learning (SPL): You receive hard copy learner guides and assessments to complete. It is your responsibility to return the completed assessments to Trainwest.

eLearning: All training is conducted online, through Trainwest’s eLearning portal. assessments are submitted directly through the eLearning portal. Hard copy learner guides can be purchased for an additional cost.

As a self-directed student (SPL and eLearning), you receive ongoing remote support from Trainwest trainers. This is in the form of telephone and email communication. Face-to-Face training can be arranged at an additional fee.
